The eXtension Alliance for Better Child Care (EABCC) Community of Practice is a team of early childhood professionals in Cooperative Extension who are passionate about young children. We are committed to supporting quality child care nationwide, and dedicated to helping child care programs improve their quality.

EABCC Vision


The Vision of the eXtension Alliance for Better Child Care is to ensure that all young children receive high-quality, developmentally appropriate early care and education experiences that provide a foundation for success in school, work and social relationships.

EABCC Mission


The Mission of the eXtension Alliance for Better Child Care is to actively engage and educate child care providers, parents and community leaders with high quality, Web-based early childhood resources and learning experiences.

EABCC Goals


The eXtension Alliance for Better Child Care goals are to:

  • Create a collaborative educational resource with extension and other professionals who serve child care providers, families and communities seeking early childhood information and resources.
  • Provide appropriate information and learning opportunities that are science-based, peer-reviewed and timely.
  • Partner with others who provide research-based educational resources to child care professionals by linking to their sites and cooperating on the development of new resources.
  • Become a resource for child care information available through Cooperative Extension, and establish extension as a national partner in the creation, implementation and evaluation of child care and early childhood educational resources.

Leadership Team

Extension colleagues from throughout the United States provide leadership for the development, adaptation and review of informational articles and frequently asked questions, the answering of Ask an Expert questions and the development and sharing of other resources.
